History

Combined Communications are a specialist provider in the Radio Communications and GPS Tracking Industry.

The Combined Group of Companies are an Australian-owned group of independent, mutually supportive organisations, which form a significant force in their areas of operations. Spectracom, the first company in the Group, was established in 1971 followed later by Nu Tech. A merger with Minor Planet in 2003 resulted in the suitably named Combined Communication with Wireless Data Solutions acquired shortly thereafter. The activities of the private companies within the Group have expanded over the years to encompass four strategic areas:

Combined Communications operates in the vertical markets of Transport and Logistics, Construction Telecommunications, Marine, Tourist, Security, Mining, Insurance, Waste, Oil and Gas. We are one of the largest independent Telstra Fleetcoms Partners in Australia.

Combined Communications currently partner with large national operators including Australia Post, Startrack Express, Caltex, Downer EDI, Boral, John Holland and Chubb Security to manage their communications needs on a state or national basis. Combined are proud to have also been a long-term provider to Hanson over the past fifteen years.

Kenwood

Kenwood introduced its first professional two-way radios in 1978, entering the land mobile market in 1983. In 1995, Kenwood launched its TK-250 licensed hand portable analogue two-way radio walkie talkie which quickly set new standards for quality, reliability and durability in operation. To date Kenwood analogue devices are in use across the world in every application from peer to peer to trunked network communications.

Kenwood’s analogue ATEX and NEXEDGE® digital ATEX two way hand portable radios have been designed to meet International Directives and Schemes to control standards for equipment and protective systems used in hazardous and potentially explosive environments where explosive gas or combustible dust threaten worker safety.
